Spiritually speaking, is it ever justified to ban a book?

I’m not against human creativity so long as it is constructive. In these times when nothing is sacred anymore and religious confusion reigns, books like the “Da Vincy Code” should be banned. And I am not saying this because I did not appreciate the plot; I watched the movie and I loved it ! But I can see how the fallacies presented can be enticing to the uneducated intellect and how people with less religious knowledge might get carried away with the fantasy and how much a caricature of our Lord and of Saint Mary Magdala they now have in their head and in their heart. It’s very damaging and it should never have been published.
