Windows media player and other programs not responding when when loading dvd?

I was watching a DVD on WMP then out of no where it says windows media player is not responding and then says close program. So i tried to reopen it and start over and it did it again. I tried to open the movie in real player... not responding divX .. .not responding quicktime ... not responding. Now i cant watch any DVDs ... HELP please!!
