So what's going on with him?

Ok so here's the story. I have had a huge crush on this guy named Neil for almost a year now. Before it was more of a creepy just look at him crush, but now I've become less of a dork, a bit more girly, and we talk probably once or twice a week, and sometimes he tries to make me laugh, smiles, or stares at me for a little bit. So there is a little possibility he could like me. Here's the confusing part. one of his bestfriends, Luke, who Almost never talks to me, has been staring at me once in a while in science. Then today, after school on my way to cheering cl him and Neil and Scott(a mutual friend) were walking a few feet behind me. I quickly glanced over my shoulder(I thought it wasn't very noticeable but whatever) and Luke smiled and said hey barbie. Caught off guard I just smiled and waved and said hi Luke. So I went into the cafeteria for cheering to help setup mats and him and Scott came in to get a drink from the vending machine. They did it and then on heir way back out Luke smiled at me again and said bye Barbie, and I basically had the same reaction again. So was he being randomely friendly, flirting with me, or does he know something I don't know ( possibly about Neil :) lol) plz help me all answers are appreciated
