I've lost my interest in watching sports unless I have a rooting interest in the game. Thoughts?

I don't know how fans can still watch games in which they don't have a rooting interest. It's like watching paint dry when you don't care who wins. In fact I won't even watch the Super Bowl this year unless the Saints are still undefeated and have a shot at 19-0. My team the Giants is out of it already, a dead team. I can't understand how people can just watch individual games unless there's a recordbreaking accomplishment involved. I only want to see something I haven't seen before.
